For the uninitiated, understanding the Nikon fl ash system can be somewhat scary. What with D-TTL and iTTL, Commander fl ash and Wireless fl ash, and what not, it can trigger an ‘I don’t want to touch it’ response, which could result in a photographer staying away from the amazing fl ash system.

Many of us shoot RAW and JPEG simultaneously. I am often asked as to why some people do that. I am also asked about the JPEG size and quality that one should set should one decide to shoot RAW+JPEG.

There are times when we like to have strong, saturated colors. Most digital cameras allow us to do that by setting the color saturation parameter to ‘Vivid’.
