Canon announced the addition of three new super-zoom cameras to its PowerShot SX line-up—the PowerShot SX530 HS, the PowerShot SX710 HS and the PowerShot SX610 HS digital cameras. The company also added two new compact cameras to its PowerShot ELPH series—the PowerShot ELPH 170 IS (IXUS 170) and PowerShot ELPH 160 (IXUS 160) cameras. The PowerShot SX530 HS, the PowerShot SX710 HS and the PowerShot SX610 HS off er optical zoom ranges of 50x, 30x and 18x, respectively. They all have built-in Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity options and can be connected to compatible Smartphones, Tablets or Wi-Fi enabled computer. The PowerShot ELPH 170 IS and PowerShot ELPH 160 digital cameras are portable and convenient to carry. They feature12x and 8x Optical Zoom lenses, respectively, and 720p HD video.
The PowerShot SX530 HS succeeds the PowerShot SX520 HS. It off ers a 24-1200mm 50x optical zoom lens and Canon’s Optical Image Stabilization. The camera has a 16 MP CMOS sensor and Canon’s DIGIC 4+ Image Processor.
The PowerShot SX710 HS is a successor to the PowerShot SX700 HS, and off ers Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity. It has a 20 MP CMOS sensor and 25-750mm 30x Optical Zoom lens, plus the DIGIC 6 Image Processor. The Power Shot SX610 HS has a 25-450mm 18x optical zoom lens, a 20 MP CMOS sensor and the DIGIC 4+ Image Processor.
The IXUS 170 off ers a 20 MP CCD sensor and a 25-300mm 12x optical zoom lens, plus Intelligent Image Stabilization and 720p HD video capturing ability. The IXUS 160 off ers a 20 MP CCD sensor, a 28-224mm 8x Optical Zoom lens, and 720p HD video capability.
