Not so long ago, a definite shift in image-taking took place with an increasing emphasis on video. The video capabilities of a camera became as important as its ability to take still shots. The launch of several new cameras in the last few months has clearly shown that these models are squarely aimed at content creators. Judging by the output put forth in Reels, there seems to be a market out there for such cameras. After all, everyone out there wants to run a podcast or become a V logger. Examples of such cameras are the Sony ZV range and Canon’s EOS R50 V.
Is this going to be transitory or a long term trend? Fatigue with influencers and celebrities has already set in. What happens to the photographer who is a pure hobbyist? We will have the answers to these questions in the next few years.
