Performance
On our test bench, the Lumix 45mm f/2.8 macro produced sharp results. The lens is sharpest between f4 and f8. The lens produced negligible distortion. Corner darkening, though not pronounced, was visible up to f/5.6. Panasonic bodies have integrated software that correct aberrations and hence aberrations were barely visible. To avoid flare, we recommend regular usage of the excellent lens hood. Finally, for close-up shooting, the lens produced pleasing bokeh (background blur). Overall, a very competent performer.
Value For Money
The Panasonic Lumix 45mm f/2.8 LEICA DG Macro Elmarit ASPH MEGA OIS is available in the USA at an equivalent price of Rs.54,000. We were not able to get an Indian price. At the US price, we feel that the lens is a tad expensive. |SP
