Olympus Imaging India announced that it would soon launch a range of compact camera and D-SLRs in India in an attempt to capture 10% of the current market share over the next three years. Olympus Imaging took over distribution in the country in 2012, and set up Olympus Imaging India as its own dedicated distributor in the country to achieve increased market focus. Kenichiro Mori, Managing Director, Olympus Imaging India, said that Olympus used to own 15% of the camera market share in 2010, and plans to regain that stake in the country’s growing camera market.
