On December 10, 2014, Sony India announced the launch of the new SxS series memory cards, for semi-professional and professional videographers. The new SxS PRO+ and SxS-1 offer ultra-high transfer speeds to enable users to work more effectively. The SxS series comes with an advanced interface of PCI Express Generation 2 and a newly developed intelligent controller. The SxS PRO+ delivers transfer speeds of 3.5Gbps (440MB/s) (read) and 2.8Gbps (350MB/s) (write). The SxS-1 has a transfer speed of 3.5Gbps (440MB/s, read). The new SxS PRO+ and SxS-1, when used with the new SxS Reader Writer (SBAC-US30.UT100) and PSZ SSD series, reduce transfer times even for large, data-intensive 4K video files. The SxS series has features like data-error correction, wear-leveling (data-defect minimizing) and data refreshing functions for secure data recording. It also has several manufacturing control functions. The SxS PRO+ and SxS-1 cards are dustproof and highly durable. The SBS-32G1A SYM and SBS-64G1A SYM cards will be available from February 2015 at Rs.22,000 and Rs.36,000 respectively. The SBP-64B SYM PRO + and SBP-128B SYM PRO + are currently available at the prices of Rs.51,875 and Rs.82,625
