Photography like any other forms of art has become an important medium of artistic expression In this context the role of India International Photographic Council’s contribution for the promotion of this form of art is exemplary.
The IIPC’s ‘World Photography-Day Annual Photo Contest’ provides a podium for all art lovers, whether an apprentice, amateur or professional, to display and polish their skills and know-how.
In fact, the response towards the 5th IIPC World Photography Day Annual Photo Contest 2011 was exhilarating this year as well. A total of 800 entries from nearly 60 participants covering more than 10 states were received in five different categories, namely B/W Pictorial Prints, Colour Pictorial Prints, Nature Prints, Journalism Prints and Travel Prints. 230 photographs were accepted out of more than 800 entries received. Five photographs received awards and about 15 photographs got Certificates of Merit. The jury comprised of Dr. Pankaj Sharma, Bijan Das, Deepak Ghosh, . Gopal Sharma and Kamran Khan.The award winners for this year are:

Mr. Anup Sah (Nainital, Uttarakhand) for “Desert Evening” (Colour Prints Section).
Mr. Ashish Kumar Pradhan (Sambalpur, Orissa) for “Red Vented Bulbul Feeding” (Nature Prints Section).
Mr. Vaibhav Jaguste (Thane, Maharashtra) for “Helping Hands” (Journalism Prints Section).Mr. K. Srinivasa Rao (Khammam, A.P) for “Net” (Travel Prints Section).
