Canon announces expansion plan

AQ--(06_13_Canon-develops)1Canon India Pvt Ltd announced plans of strong expansion in the East India market. Dr. Alok Bharadwaj, Executive Vice President, Canon India said, “Festive celebrations for a brand is not just about offers, new products or schemes, it is more about strengthening the bond with the audience in the most effective way. Despite slowdown, we have been able to achieve 27% growth in DSLR business in East India and maintained a steady growth rate of 10% across India. By expanding offerings with variant of combos and discounts varying from 10% to 40%, we are preparing for a strong foothold in this segment.” They have acquired 30% of the market share in East India in the Inkjet printer category. As part of their Durga Puja campaign, they will be offering a package of Dual Zoom Lens Kit with EOS 600D (EF-S 18-55mm IS II + EF-S 55-250mm). Canon’s Durga Puja offerings on products include a 4GB SD card and a carry case to each customer on purchase of the EOS 1100D and EOS 600D with savings of upto INR 12,995 on purchase of dual zoom kit.

They have also launched two new compact cameras, PowerShot SX170 and PowerShot S200 for the festive season. The company also wishes to encourage photography amongst mothers and children with the EOS 100D, their small and light D-SLR with advanced features. Canon also launched the EOS Academy that offers free and paid workshops and seminars by photography experts.
