Canon Inc. announced that it was looking forward to a positive financial year 2013-14, backed by continuing consumer demand for its D-SLR cameras. The company announced it had achieved solid sales of units in the first quarter. Canon estimated that the world’s shipments of interchangeable lens compact cameras would grow 11% year-on-year to 20 million units in 2013, while also forecasting that the domestic market would rise to 2.15 million units.
