To celebrate the spirit of womanhood, Canon has planned an array of activities for its women employees. Women colleagues will be welcomed with a motivational program hosted by a motivational speaker and a Life Coach. In this two hour session, they can explore ways in which they can enhance their work-life balance.
On March 13th photography workshops will be held across the country. The first leg will begin at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi, The Chancery Pavilion in Bengaluru, Holiday Inn in Mumbai and The Park in Kolkata. This is an initiative that is aimed at Canon’s efforts towards making technology accessible, especially to women. The company is hoping to create an engaging platform for participating photography enthusiasts.
Canon has emphasised performance management, resource planning etc. Its HR policies include ‘Lady Power Lunch with CEO’ where women employees can directly interact with the CEO. Under the ‘Women Empowerment’ initiative, women from different Canon offices interact with women and girls from rural India. They educate them about issues like personal hygiene, significance of sanitation, most importantly self-defense and safety.
Kazutada Kabayashi, President and CEO of Canon India, said, “Women today are superwomen in the truest sense. They manage their work and home with equal dedication and efforts. It is for us to appreciate their efforts and provide them with opportunities, so that they can showcase their prowess. Women in Canon hold many important positions. We aim to continue and excel this proposition. At present, we have 12% women employees contributing to the vision of Canon India. But we surely want to take this number to at least 20% over the next two years.”
