Cosina announces mid-range telephoto lens

Cosina Co. announced that it was developing a new mid-range telephoto lens – the NOKTON 42.5mm F/0.95 – for compact cameras with micro four thirds sensor systems. The lens is equivalent to 85mm F/0.95 in 35mm format, and its wide aperture size of F/0.95 is expected to make it highly suitable for portrait photography. The lens has 11 elements in 8 groups, using high refractive index glass, and will be of the manual focussing type. Cosina announced that the lens would be available starting August, for an approximate street price of 123,900 yen.
