The big news this month is the launch of Sony’s new A 9 Mk III. New cameras get launched all the time but this Sony is special because it is the world’s first full frame sensor camera with a global shutter system. This enables the A 9 III to capture fast moving subjects with absolutely no image distortion. Thereby, split second moments can be preserved with stunning detail. To make things clearer, the current rolling shutter system records images sequentially from the top row of pixels to the bottom. The global shutter system introduced by Sony reads all pixels simultaneously. The camera can shoot at 120 fps with no blackout and a maximum shutter speed of 1/80000 sec. This could well be a game changer for professional photographers.
Will others follow Sony’s lead?
