In a move likely aimed at competing with segment behemoth GoPro, Garmin launched two new cameras in the rugged action camera market – the VIRB and VIRB Elite. Both the cameras have a 16MP processor, are capable of 1080p video capture, have a 1.4” display, integrated weatherproof housing, ANT+ connectivity, and time-lapse photography capability. In addition, the VIRB Elite boasts in-built Wi-fi and GPS. The cameras are available internationally from the end of September for US$299.99 for the VIRB, and US$399.99 for the VIRB Elite.
