The world has learnt to move on after the Covid crisis and so has India. As we open up, albeit slowly, life has to get back to normal rather fast. After all, you need something much nastier and bigger to crush a showcase industry like imaging. Just look at how the heavily taxed auto industry is bouncing back.

This month, we have two notable products on our test bench. The first is the Nikon D6. SP’s first issue in April 2005 featured the last flagship film SLR from Nikon, the F6. Coming as it did when film was on its last legs, SP had titled it ‘The last of the Mohicans’. This title would perhaps be appropriate again with the world moving to mirrorless cameras. Nevertheless, the F6 was and the D6 is a brilliant camera.

We were also highly impressed with Tamron’s new 70-180mm f/2.8 lens. Completing the trio of high quality Sony FE mount lenses, Tamron seems to be on a roll.
