By the time you read this welcome note, several cities in India will likely see the start of the rainy season. Since humidity (and dust) is the enemy of electronics, we suggest you safely store your expensive equipment in humidity controlled cabinets between uses.
At the same time, don’t be overly concerned about using your gear during the rains. As long as you take reasonable care and avoid water splashes on the equipment, it should be fine. Several modern camera bodies as well as lenses are ‘weather resistant’. Just keep in mind that ‘weather resistant’ does not mean ‘waterproof’. Rainy seasons can offer some of the best opportunities for creating outstanding images, though, sometimes, a change in our approach is required. We hope to see your rainy season photos in SP.
