Olympus has introduced the TG-6, a tough, compact digital camera that is perfect for shooting in inclement weather. The TG-6 offers five underwater shooting modes and three underwater White Balance modes. It features a fast, wide-angle f/2 lens, BSI (backside illuminated) high-speed CMOS sensor and powerful TruePic VIII image processor.
Olympus states that the camera’s Variable Macro System goes beyond the limits of the eye with ultra-close-up shooting up to 1 cm from the front of the lens. The rear LCD monitor features 1.04 MP HD resolution for improved visibility, and the brightness and colour saturation are optimally tuned for use outdoors.
The TG-6 is waterproof to a depth of approximately 50 feet, dustproof, shockproof to a drop of 7 feet, crushproof to 100 kgf, freezeproof to -10°C and offers anti-fogging performance. A new fisheye converter lens is available as an accessory, along with a full lineup of other accessories for expanded shooting possibilities.
The Olympus TG-6 will be available in red and black colours beginning in late June 2019, with a suggested retail price of USD 449.99.
