These three stamps were issued by the Suriname postal department in 1989 on the occasion of the 150th year of photography. The first stamp features Louis Jacques Mande Daguerre, recognized for his invention of the daguerreotype process of photography. He became known as one of the fathers of photography. The second stamp reflects his daguerreotype camera. The third stamp features Joseph Nicephore Niepce, credited as the inventor of photography.

This commemorative stamp was released by India Post in the year 2006 to honour Lala Deen Dayal (1844-1905). What makes it interesting is that, he is the only photographer to be featured on an Indian stamp. His career began in the mid-1870s as a commissioned photographer eventually setting up studios in Indore, Mumbai and Hyderabad. He became the court photographer to the sixth Nizam of Hyderabad who awarded him the title ‘Musawwir Jung Raja Bahadur’. He was also appointed as the photographer to the Viceroy of India in 1885. He received the Royal Warrant from Queen Victoria in 1897.
