Samsung has introduced a new suite of power devices in its Galaxy Note20 series. The Note20 series comes with an all new S pen along with advanced features such as Samsung notes app, Nearby Share, Microsoft’s Your Phone app and advanced gaming features that extend to Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+. While the S Pen offers actions that enable accurate and responsive navigation, the Samsung Notes app features auto-save and syncing capabilities that turn messy handwriting into legible penmanship and also gives the option to annotate and highlight PDFs. It gives the users the option to record audio while jotting down notes and helps keeping it all organised with an intuitive folder management system. The Your Phone app provides a link to Windows integration that enables users to access mobile apps directly from Windows 10 devices. The app allows users to send messages, manage notifications, sync photos and make and receive calls from the Windows 10 devices. It also provides an option to add the mobile apps to the Taskbar or Start menu.
The Note20 series also features advanced gaming features such as AI game booster and Bluetooth audio response optimisation, with a 240Hz touch latency on the Galaxy Note20 Ultra. The devices feature an 8K camera with 21:9 aspect ratio and 24fps recording, for ultra-high resolution and a professional quality video experience. The series also allows you to control audio sources by adjusting gain and selecting between onboard mics or external sources. The Samsung DeX feature wirelessly connects the Note20 series to a Smart TV when you need a bigger screen. The Note20 Ultra offers a bright Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with 120Hz refresh rate and sports an intelligent battery with super fast charging capabilities. It also provides stable Wi-Fi 6 networks with optimised latency for various streaming services. The Galaxy Note20 will be available Mystic Bronze, Mystic Green and Mystic Grey colours while the Note20 Ultra will be available in Mystic Bronze, Mystic Black and Mystic White.
Samsung has also revealed the launch of Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+ that reportedly provide an improved keyboard experience (keyboard sold separately as Book Cover Keyboard), and an improved S Pen with similar capabilities as the Note20 series. Both tablets are 5G enabled and feature an immersive display with a 120 Hz refresh rate for cloud-based gaming and HD streaming. The S7+ offers an extra-large 12.4 inch Super AMOLED display. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi, Auto Hotspot (that automatically tethers with other Galaxy devices) and Nearby Share. The tablets come with tools such as Samsung Notes and Bluetooth mouse and are available in Mystic Black, Mystic Silver and Mystic Bronze colours.
Other launches include the Galaxy Watch3 and the Galaxy Buds Live. The Galaxy Watch3 is built with premium materials and a slimmed-down version of the popular rotating bezel. The smartwatch sports Blood Oxygen feature to measure and track oxygen saturation over time while the Health Monitor app offers cuff-less blood pressure and electrocardiogram measurements. When a potential fall is detected, the user’s location is sent immediately to pre-designated contacts. The app also provides more than 120 different home training programmess for tracking workout progress. The Buds Live is a wireless bud that combines AKG’s sound expertise with a 12mm speaker with a bass duct. They come with three microphones, Voice Pickup and feature Active Noise Cancellation.
Samsung has also unveiled the Z Fold2 smartphone that combines the portability and flexibility of a smartphone with the power and screen size of a tablet. The foldable smartphone comes with two edge-to-edge, nearly bezel-less Infinity-O Displays. The cover screen measures 6.2 inches while the main screen measures 7.6 inches, making them both larger than the Galaxy Fold. While it comes in Mystic Black and Mystic Bronze colours, Samsung has also partnered with the New York fashion house ‘Thom Browne’ to deliver a Galaxy Z Fold2 Thom Browne limited edition.
The devices will be available across select markets starting August 21, 2020, but, no pricing related information has been revealed so far.
