A photography magazine is where one learns photography (no prizes for guessing that!). We learn by reading, and we also learn by viewing other people’s pictures.
Whilst this issue showcases quite a few photographers, here are six more who deserve better coverage for their body of work. Sit back, and enjoy their pictures.
Dr Caesar Sengupta, MD – Currently holding the chair of the General Manager at Thyrocare Technologies Ltd, a nation-wide networked Pathology diagnostic laboratory. He is also an avid wildlife conservation photographer, freelance writer and a trainer. He has travelled extensively across the Indian geography. He is currently working as an active member of ‘Lost Amphibians of India’ project and this picture featured here is one of his favorites from the North East Indian rainforests.
Dr. Dinesh Maskeri, MD – While in school at Rishi Valley (about 120kms from Bengaluru), Dinesh had an opportunity to learn photography. With lots of landscapes, flowers, trees, birds, and wild animals in the wilderness of the surrounding hills, he had ample opportunity to try his hand. Dinesh graduated in medicine in the early nineties, but the photography bug had already bitten him earlier, and so he joined the National Institute of Photography in Mumbai, where his teacher, the late Mr. Manohar Desai, put him back on track.
Girish Vaze – A businessman, and a photographer. He is a keen bird watcher and nature enthusiast. Initially starting with a point and shoot camera, he soon discovered his passion for nature photography, especially bird photography. He shifted to Canon DSLR system in 2005 and started serious nature photography.
Jagdeep Rajput – In his younger days, Jagdeep used to sketch and paint people and landscapes. So he bought a 70-210mm lens primarily to help himself prepare better sketches of people. But once he started observing birds and animals through this lens, he got hooked to it. He then did not have the financial resources to keep buying more equipment; neither did he have the required guidance, but he persevered, and today he is one of the most well-known wildlife photographers in the country.
Rajesh Shah – By profession, Rajesh is an engineer with Hewlett Packard India, and wildlife photography is an natural extension of his love of birding, wildlife and outdoors.. Says Rajesh, “It’s a great hobby and once you get hooked there’s no looking back, only looking down to check the holes in your pocket”.
C. S. Girish – An amateur photographer, and a freight-forwarding executive based in Chennai. He loves nature and spends his weekends chasing Kingfishers, Green Bee-Eaters, and Indian Rollers.
