Sharp announces alliance with China Electronics Corp

Sharp Corp. announced that the company’s board of directors passed a resolution to enter into a business  alliance with China Electronics Corporation (CEC), regarding LCD panels. Sharp and CEC had previously  cooperated to produce 6th generation LCD panels at CEC-Panda LCD Technology Co. in Nanjing City in May 2011. The current alliance includes providing high-definition TFT-LCD panels and module technology to CEC,  as well as joint operation of a plant for the production of 8.5th generation LCD panels and modules. The new  joint venture, called Nanjing CED-PANDA LCD Technology Co., will be incorporated in March 2014, and start  operating in June 2015.
