Toshiba Corp. launched a new SD card featuring the NFC (Near Field Communication) function with an enhanced readout speed of 50MB per second. Three versions of the SD card are available with a memory capacity of 8GB, 16GB and 32GB. A preview function has also been added with which a user can see the contents in the card like thumbnails of pictures etc just by holding the card near an NFC-enabled smartphone. The company will also roll out an app, ‘Memory Card Preview’ at the Google Playstore, which will help users in previewing multiple cards simultaneously. A smartphone with this app will be able to display multiple cards’ information. The user can also select the required card.
