Toshiba announced that it has developed a new 2.5-inch HDD, the MQ02AABF100, featuring 1 TB memory capacity on an ultra-thin body of 7 mm and it will begin a sample shipment in November 2013. In the HDD category, this frive will be the world’s largest. The company has also developed a 750 GB model, the MQ02ABF075. Toshiba has embedded the hard disks in the body by using a dedicated container with a double-disk structure and a thin spindle motor. The new HDD is 2.5mm thinner than the preceding model and is suitable for ultra-thin notebook PCs. The company will begin sample shipments in November and mass production in December 2013.
