Velbon Corp. began offering a new compact tripod head, dubbed ‘cu head’, in November. The compact cu head measures 58x25x50mm, and is suitable to hold a compact camera or action camera weighing up to 400g. The camera can be swiftly and securely attached by a dial operation. Made with magnesium alloy, the lightweight tripod head is only 106g. The cu head (#4907990306746) is priced at 4,000 Yen.
Velbon also launched a small head for tilting the camera, the THD-23, at a suggested price of 2,000 Yen. The camera angle can be easily fixed by screwing a stopper on the side. It measures 34x17x45mm, and can be used on a monopod as well. The head holds cameras weighing up to 500g.
