No other category of imaging excites photographers as much as wildlife. Capturing wildlife in their natural habitat is a challenge and sometimes requires skills other than photography. Some research into animal behaviour can be helpful and the photographer should be skilled at concealing his presence as well as be able to stalk animals or birds. In the olden days, getting the right equipment for wildlife photography was not easy. With fast telephoto lenses capable of producing excellent results even at high ISOs, the photographer’s task is much easier.
Finally, don’t let your enthusiasm get the better of you. A famous wildlife photographer, once in his enthusiasm, slipped down the back of an elephant and landed perilously close to a tiger. That the tiger did not fancy him for a meal is another story.
