Canon India hosted a photography workshop for photo journalists at the magnificent Shiv Vilas Palace in Jaipur.
The two day workshop was an informative weekend getaway for the attendees, and was attended by 44 photojournalists largely from the Delhi and Mumbai media. Mathew Thottungal represented Smart Photography magazine at the workshop. The list of speakers for the Canon two-day workshop, included Chaitanya Kalbag (Editor-Business Today), Subi Chaturvedi(Filmmaker and media practitioner), and Dinesh Khanna (Travel photographer).
The sessions offered an opportunity for the attendees to interact with the professionals and learn the nuances of photography. Chaitanya Kalbag spoke about Imperative and Ethics in Photo Journalism. He also mentioned that images aimed to offend, shock, mislead, stereotype and confuse should be avoided.
While on the other hand, Subi Chaturvedi revealed, “Photography is a different art form because it’s a mix of technique, technology and aesthetics. Without technology, the full potential of photography cannot be exploited.”
