At a time when digital SLRs are being challenged worldwide for market share by mirrorless cameras, along comes a new D-SLR that sets new standards and attains new heights in image capture. Yes, the new D850 from Nikon has come out at the right time for a company that has not had the best of times in the last 2 years. The recent rejig in the GST rates for items like lenses and printers is certainly welcome but does not go far enough. The introduction of a one rate (or two) for GST will perhaps help the imaging industry and industry in general much more.
Starting from this month, we are collaborating with Pixlent to drive our If I Were You section. In addition, Smart Photography will be an expert on the Pixlent photo review platform. Through this initiative, we wish to widen our engagement with the photography community by bringing in new readers and photography experts.
