The winners for Nikon’s Photo Contest International 2010-11 was declared recently.
The Grand Prix award went to Indian photographer, Debarshi Duttagupta His photo, ‘Learning to Fly’, along with the other award winners will be displayed on the Nikon Photo Contest Judging Results page. (http://www.nikon-npci.com).
The 33rd edition of this contest invited submissions in two categories under the themes of ‘Free Subject’ and ‘Energy’. Roughly 23,000 photographers from 153 countries and regions submitted over 60,000 photographs. This makes it the largest contest to be held to date, in terms of the number of submissions and the number of entrants.
Announcing the winner, Hiroshi Takashina, Managing Director, Nikon India, stated, “At Nikon, we have always been committed to promoting photography across the world and this contest is a grand initiative in this direction.There is more reason for excitement since the winning entry is from India. Debarshi’s accomplishment is a testimony of the tremendous potential, passion and love for photography in this wonderful country.”
