Nidhi Sethi, Flash Memory Sales Director,Kingston India

With external memory becoming increasingly critical in different product applications, the competition too is getting stronger by the day. But the global memory leader, Kingston believes that memory cards are not just for storage, but is digital media per se. In an exclusive, Nidhi Sethi, Sales Diector, Kingston India, talks about innovation, technology and more, to Daily Bulletin.

With the HD movie feature being bundled in all the latest D-SLRs becoming critical, the need for high definition card is increasingly becoming a necessity. At Photofair’11 what is Kingston Technology basically showcasing to attract footfalls. Kingston will showcase the latest memory card lineups, such as CF 600x, SDXC, SDHC, high capacity photo and mobile cards, as well as video cards. In addition, we will hold exciting, interesting, and special on-site activities to educate end-users why Kingston’s
memory cards are the only choice for satisfying photography in general. With the bundling of various
newer memory class in the SDHC categories, it has become easy for photographers to make an informed choice about their needs. The different speed classes enables to deliver minimum data transfer rate for optimum performance in devices. What are some of the latest large capacities that are available in the market and how do you rate it with that of the competition in terms of performance and speed.

Kingston has the Class 10 technology in SD, which is the latest and fast performing in comparison to the competitors who are still on Class 6. We lead in this category with regard to high performance SDXC cards enabling photographer to experience improved digital lifestyles. This is possible by
combining high bandwidth and portable storage needed to store content-rich applications, such as high-defi nition video, photo collections and music. Featured in a massive 64GB capacity and with speeds up to 60Mbps read and 35Mbps write, this card is ideal for storing and recording HD highdefi
nition video, high resolution, or RAW still photos with SDXC-supported host devices.

Digital photography and mobile cards are a huge potential in the country. In order to drive optimum growth, are you contemplating to hold workshops, seminars to highlight the features of your memory
products.

In order to let everyone experience the fun of using Kingston’s memory cards, we will be organizing different interesting activities in India, including workshops, seminars, roadshows, etc.

What do you think will be the next innovation with regard to portable memory and why?

According to the trends, small factor, large storage capacity, fast data transfer rate, and “differentiation” will be the future of innovation. This the reason why new or advanced devices are requiring small size, large capacity, and fast memory cards. Regarding “differentiation”, Kingston believes that memory cards are not just for storage, but are “digital media” as well. In fact,
the preloaded content in the cards can make them different and also increasingly personal and stylish for different users.
