Tasveer presents “Photos for Rato”, – a collection of twenty odd rare photographs shot by Nicholas Vreeland as a Rato monk for over a span of 26 years.
They provide a glimpse into daily life in a monastery which only an insider could have experienced. Vreeland’s father was a diplomat, so young Nicholas lived in many parts of the world before he became the Dalai Lama’s photographer, since His Holiness’ first visit to America in 1979. The exhibition will be held at Tasveer, Sue House, Bangalore from 22nd September to 12th October 2011
