Samsung has introduced the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+ and S21 Ultra devices. This new flagship series debuts an iconic design in a pro-grade camera for users of any skill level and reportedly, its most advanced processor in a Galaxy device.
The S21 comes in a light design and a compact 6.2-inch display, while the S21+ sports an expanded 6.7-inch display and a larger battery. The S21 series introduces a Contour Cut Camera housing that blends into the device’s metal frame for a sleek, yet striking, aesthetic. The S21 and S21+ will be available in a range of eye-catching colours, including a new signature colour, Phantom Violet and each device is coated with a haze finish on the back. The S21 touts an intelligent, edge-to-edge Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity-O display with adaptive 120Hz refresh rate. It comes with Eye Comfort Shield that automatically adjusts the blue light. It features 8K Snap as well as video with Super Steady video at an improved 60fps. Paired with Samsung’s new Galaxy Buds Pro, it allows users to capture both ambient sounds and your voice at the same time using multiple mic recording. The S21 and S21+’s AI-powered triple-lens pro-grade camera system intuitively assesses and adjusts to your scene and its Portrait Mode separates the subject from the background. Its new Zoom Lock minimises shaky hands and captures clearer images at 30x zoom, by leveraging AI to keep your focal point in the centre of the frame.
The S21 features a smartphone chipset that supports 5G connectivity and on-device AI. It is secured by Samsung Knox Vault, Samsung’s own proprietary chipset level (SoC) security platform and its Private Share function allows control over content access. It also features SmartThings Find, that allows you to locate your compatible Galaxy devices even when they’re offline and Galaxy SmartTag Bluetooth locator for locating non-connected devices.
The S21 Ultra comes with a 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a Quad HD+ display. Compared to the S20, the S21 Ultra offers a 25% brighter picture at a 1,500nits of peak brightness and a 50% improved contrast ratio. It has a quad rear camera (ultra-wide, wide and dual tele-lenses) that features an upgraded 108MP pro sensor, from which you can capture 12 bit HDR photos with 64 times richer colour data and more than three times wider dynamic range. It supports 4K video at 60fps across all lenses has a 12-bit RAW file option, 100x Space Zoom, an improved Bright Night sensor and 12MP Nona-binning technology for noise reduction. It also comes with the S Pen and supports Wi-Fi 6E9, 5G and Dual Bluetooth technology. Its Ultra-wideband capabilities (UWB) allows users to automatically unlock compatible car doors also supports SmartThings Auto. The S21 Ultra sports a battery that can reach a 50% charge in just 30 minutes and similar to other S series devices, it is secured by Samsung Knox Vault.
