Researchers develop smartphone app that allows the blind to take pictures
A team of researchers at the University of California, Santa Cruz, California, USA, have developed a smartphone app that lets photographers take pictures without actually needing to see what is in front of them. The as yet unnamed app works on technology that builds on existing smartphone facial detection sensors to guide users.
Sony announces Xperia ZR waterproof smartphone
Sony announced the Xperia ZR, an Android-based smartphone that Sony claims is both dust- proof as well as water-resistant, capable of shooting full HD videos underwater, up to a depth of 5 feet, for as long as 30 minutes. The phone features a 4.6-inch “OptiContrast OLED” screen with Bravia technology, a 13MP camera, and 2GB RAM with a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro Quad-core 1.5 GHz processor.
