Sony announced a new range of Cyber-shot compact cameras to be available in the market by August-September.
The models to be introduced are WX30, TX55 and W550.
The WX30, a successor to the present WX7, features super resolution technology and a touch-screen LCD panel that adds to the model’s looks. The Super Resolution technology makes the 5X zoom lens of the camera to perform like a 10X zoom camera. The camera is equipped with a 1/2.3-inch 16.2MP (effective) Exmor R backlit CMOS sensor with the highest speed of up to ISO 3,200.
The TX55 is the flagship model of the series, the thinnest of the class at 12.2mm and shares most features with the WX30. It is equipped with a 1/2.3 inch 16.2MP Exmor R backlit CMOS sensor with the highest speed of up to ISO 3,200 equivalent.
The W550 is an affordable compact model fitted with a 1/2.3-inch 14.1MP (effective) Super HAD CCD image sensor, Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar 4X zoom lens and 3.0-inch TFT LCD monitor.
