The photographs in this exhibition presented by Tasveer are an evocation of princely India and a historical record of an age we will never ever experience.
Each portrait reflects an unmistakable aura of majesty, effortlessly carried and eloquently ever captured. The photographic portrait is never truly opaque, and behind the facade of splendid dress and gleaming jewels, we glimpse a rare human side to the sitters. The Maharajahs in these photographs, mark the end of an epoch in India’s history.
The expo will be held from 25th September to 6th October, 2011, at ‘Gallery Art Motif, New Delhi.
