Over The Hills And Far Away

September 27, 2016 by SPEdit Team

SOverThe1Lijo Joseph, a software engineer by profession, hails from the God’s own country. His love for mother nature led him to selftrain and pursue photography as a hobby. He began spending his leisure hours clicking the beautiful surroundings of Kerala and today, after three years of self-training, Lijo has become a serious hobbyist photographer. Taking out time from his otherwise busy routine, during the weekends, Lijo picks up his gear and sets out to capture the mesmerising landscapes in and around Kerala. Lijo believes that photography has helped him find the beauty in nature and teach him to feel it, rather than just living a robotic life. Even as a kid, Lijo was always fascinated with the mountains and by photographing these landscapes, he tries to show an experience and emotions of that place. He says, “My favourite subject is shooting ‘small people in big landscapes’. I think it gives a perspective and scales the image, and bridges a connection with the story within. I strongly believe that true passion is inherent and I am always inspired by the mountains and the adventures they offer”. Outdoor photography comes with its own challenges and Lijo, who loves photographing landscapes and nightscapes mostly during dusk or dawn, too agrees to it. He admits that sometimes he has to wait for weeks and months to get the right light and the spectacular hues of sky to get that one perfect shot. A techie at heart and photographer by passion, Lijo Joseph has been capturing the moments of his life, one picture at a time. To view more of his work go to www.facebook.com/frozenmoments.in
