Sony revealed its newest full-frame premium compact camera, the Cybershot RX1R. The camera is exactly the same in terms of functionality and operation as Sony’s RX1 that has seen excellent sales since its launch last year; the only difference is that the RX1R has no antialiasing filter. Sony hopes that this will provide even better resolution than the RX1, with the trade-off of increased moire. All the other components of the camera remain the same, including a 35mm F/2.0 lens, a 24MP CMOS sensor, 1080/60p video recording, and the rest. The RX1R will also retail at the same price as the RX1, for US$2800.
