Aishwarya Sridhar Wins at the 56th Wildlife Photographer of the Year Awards

On the 13th of October, the 56th Wildlife Photographer of the Year awards was announced by the Natural History Museum, London. It witnessed over 50,000 entries coming from over 80 countries this year and only 100 images were awarded. Indian wildlife photographer Aishwarya Sridhar bagged an award in the adult competition, making her the youngest and the first girl to win the award from India in the Adult competition.

Aishwarya received the Highly Commended Award in the Behaviour-Invertebrates Category for her entry titled ‘Lights of Passion’. The photograph was captured using the Canon EOS-1D X Mark II camera and Canon EF16-35mm f/2.8 L II USM lens at focal length 24 mm; shutter speed 24 sec, f/2.8 and ISO 1000.

Aishwarya has won many international and national photography competitions and her documentaries and photographs on wildlife conservation have been recognised and awarded across various international platforms. She has also been a speaker with TEDx and is a Global Goodwill Ambassador. She has shared her knowledge of photography via webinars on Wildlife Photography at HO and regional levels via Canon EOS Explore.
