Sigma announced the 12-24mm F4.5-5.6 II DG HSM, a full 35mm format hyper wideangle zoom lens, which is a successor to the 12-24mm F4.5-5.6 EX DG Aspherical introduced in 2003.
The four FLD glass elements used equal in performance to silica, and a SLD glass element minimizes aberrations. The lens focuses down to a minimum distance of 28cm throughout the entire zooming range. The lens weighs approximately 670g.
Sigma also unveiled its latest MACRO 105mm F2.8 EX DG OS HSM fast lens capable of 1:1 close-up using the original image stabilization system. The lens adopts ‘Floating Inner Focus’ system that respectively moves 2 lens groups to reduce varying aberrations and attain high image quality in all distances.The super multi-layer coating of lens surfaces minimizes flares and ghosts. The lens is marked at a list price of 112,000 yen (US$1,400).
