Olympus formally announced the launch of an electronic viewfinder (EVF) for the third generation PEN series compact system cameras (mirror-less cameras).
The VF3 EVF that can be placed on the accessory shoe of PEN cameras adopts a 922K-dot display, eye-point of 17.4mm, and can be turned upwards at 90 degrees. Compared to the currently available 1,440K-dot VF2 EVF, the VF-3 is a approximately 25 percent smaller and 13 percent lighter. The VF-3 measuring 25.4 x 44.1 x 43.8mm, weighs about 28g and is available at 23.5K yen (US$290).
