Putting all speculations and rumours to rest, Canon today officially announced the much awaited EOS 6D Mark II full frame D-SLR along with the EOS 200D, an entry-level, feature rich model. The EOS 6D Mark II sports a 26.2 megapixel CMOS sensor and includes a fully articulated capacitive touch 3.0-in 1.04 million-dot LCD.
EOS 6D Mark II
The 6D Mark II adopts advanced features such as Dual Pixel CMOS AF and 4K time-lapse video from its older siblings. Other improved features include White Priority and Ambience Priority White Balance Modes, expanded lens aberration control features including Peripheral illumination correction, Chromatic aberration correction, Distortion correction and Diffraction correction, Grid Display, Electronic Level and 45 AF points (all cross-type) with the central point dual cross type at f/2.8. The camera has a native ISO sensitivity ranging from ISO 100 to 40,000, which is expandable from 50 to 102,400. A new Flicker reduction mode ensures flicker-free images under fluorescent light while HDR and Multiple Exposure are now possible within the camera itself.
Continuous shooting speed has been increased to up to 6.5 frames per second when using the viewfinder while it provides up to 4 frames per second in Live View. It can capture a maximum burst of approximately 110 JPEG Large/Fine images or up to 18 Raw images. Videos can be captured in up to Full HD (1920×1080) resolution with frame rates of 50 p and 25p. The 6D Mark II also features in-camera Raw image processing, Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth and GPS. The cam,era measures approximately 144.0 x 110.5 x 74.8 mm and weighs 765g.
EOS 200D
The EOS 200D is placed between the 1300D and 77D. The camera uses a 24.2 megapixel APS-C sensor and offers sensitivity from ISO 100 to 25600, expandable up to ISO 51,200. It features Dual Pixel CMOS AF in Live View and nine autofocus point including a central cross-type sensor.
The 200D includes Ambience priority and White priority White Balance options along with Peripheral illumination correction, Chromatic aberration correction, Distortion correction and Diffraction correction. The camera can shoot continuously at up to 5.0 frames per second and approximately 6 Raw or 6 Raw+JPEG Large/Fine images can be shot in a burst. The built-in flash has a Guide No. of approximately 9.8m. Videos can be recorded in Full HD (1920×1080) quality at 50.00p or 25.00p. HDR movies are possible. It uses a 3.0-inch approximately 1.04 million-dot capacitive touch fully articulated LCD.
This camera also provides in-camera Raw processing, Wi-Fi, NFC and Bluetooth. The camera weighs approximately 409g and measures 122.4 x 92.6 x 69.8 mm.
