Panasonic has introduced the Leica DG Vario-Summilux 10-25 mm f/1.7 Asph standard interchangeable zoom lens. The lens is suitable for a variety of daily shooting situations, from dynamic landscapes to portraits — even for low-lit scenes — eliminating the need to change lenses under varying lighting conditions.
Comprising 17 elements in 12 groups, the lens features three aspherical elements and four ED (Extra-low Dispersion) elements that effectively suppress axial chromatic aberration and chromatic aberration of magnification and adds up to make the lens compact and lightweight.
Panasonic states the new lens excels in video recording performance.
The rugged dust/splash-resistant design withstands use under harsh conditions even at -10 degrees Celsius for high mobility. Nine blades give the aperture a rounded shape that produces a smooth defocus effect in out-of-focus areas when shooting at larger aperture settings. Filter diameter is 77 mm. The lens mount is made of metal, which will endure long-time use.
