Canon develops 35mm fixed-focus EF Cinema Lens

Canon has  developed a new cinema lens for its Cinema EOS System; a 35mm single-focal- length EF lens designed to fulfill contemporary 4K (4096×2160 pixel) production standards, which offer a level of resolution exceeding four times the resolution of full HD.

This model is compatible with not only industry-standard-size Super 35mm-equivalent sensors, but also with 35mm full-frame, APS-H, APS-C size sensors. Details regarding specifications and pricing have yet to be determined. Canon plans to release the lens by the end of 2013.The company exhibited a mock-up of the lens at NAB Show 2013 which was held from April 8th to 11th in Las Vegas, USA.
