Xiaomi has announced the Redmi 9i as a part of their Redmi series of smartphones. The 9i aims to break the memory barrier that exists in the sub-10K segment.
The smartphone features a 16.5 cm HD+ IPS LCD display with a 20:9 aspect ratio with TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light certification, allowing better visibility in reading mode. Powering it is the octa-core MediaTek Helio G25 chipset clocked at 2.0 GHz. The 9i aims to bring high RAM and ROM options to the segment with 4GB + 64GB and 4GB + 128GB variants. It also has a microSD card slot allowing expansion up to 512GB. It is powered by a 5000mAh enhanced two-day battery with ELB (Enhanced Lifespan Battery) to ensure a battery lifespan of up to 2.5-3 years. It features a 13MP AI camera on the rear with features such as AI Portrait mode, AI scene detection, document scanner and kaleidoscope. It also comes with a 5MP AI selfie camera with AI portrait mode and AI face unlock.
The Redmi 9i will be available in three colour variants i.e. Nature Green, Sea Blue and Midnight Black at a price of INR 8299 (4GB + 64GB) and INR 9299 (4GB + 128GB) respectively, across Flipkart, Mi Homes, Mi Studios as well as its official website, starting 18th September 2020.
