Artificial Intelligence (AI) is beginning to play a stronger role in the photographic industry. AI is now appearing in many photo editing programs and apps. This raises the question of how much AI will change photography. Will one be able to see and track the extent to which AI has changed the image that has been taken? Otherwise ‘ deep fakes’ will prevail and erode people’s trust in photography. Meanwhile companies like Leica have asserted that they do not want to be associated too much with AI editing. The reasons are obvious.
