Nikon will be expanding its line of Nikkor lenses with two new models—the DXformat AF-S DX Nikkor 55-200mm f/4.5-5.6 G ED VR II zoom lens, and the FX-format AF-S Nikkor 300mm f/4 E PF ED VR. Th ese lenses were introduced at the Consumer Electronics Show 2015 at Las Vegas, Nevada, U.S.A, that took place from January 6 to 9. Both the lenses will be` available from February.
According to Nikon, the 300mm f/4 lens is 30% shorter and about 680g lighter than its predecessor. It has 16 elements in 10 groups, including 1 ED element, 1 Phase Fresnel element, as well as fluorine and nano crystal coating. It has an ultrasonic motor, measures 148(l)x 89(d)mm with a 77mm filter thread and weighs 755g.
The 55-200mm lens offers Vibration Reduction up to 4 stops. It has 13 elements in 9 groups including one ED glass element and a micro-type ultrasonic motor. It weighs about 300g, measures 83(l)x71(d)mm and has a 52mm filter thread.
