Panasonic announces revised version of classic lens

Panasonic announced the Lumix G 20mm F/1.7 II ASPH, a revised version of its classic fast pancake lens for Micro Four Thirds system cameras. Dubbed the H-HS020A, the new lens seems to be unchanged from its predecessor in its optical design, with 7 elements in 5 groups, including 2 aspheric elements. The lens will also feature a metallic exterior and silver or black finish, and Panasonic claims that improved construction has reduced the weight slightly. The lens is expected to be available in the coming few months for a price of approximately US$399.
