Panasonic announced two new rugged cameras to its water, freeze, shock and dust proof tough camera range, the Lumix TS6 and TS30. Th e Lumix DMC-TS6 features a 16 MP CMOS sensor with a 28mm wide-angle 4.6x optical zoom Leica lens (equivalent to 28-128mm in the 35mm format). It has 1920×1080 60p full HD video recording capability, a burst shoot mode of 10 fps, Instant Transfer function and various special effects like Creative Panorama, Creative Retouch, Time Lapse Shot, etc. The TS6 is waterproof up to 13m, shockproof to 2m, crushproof to 100kgf, freezeproof to -10 degrees Celsius and dustproof. It features Wi-Fi and NFC compatibility and has built-in GPS. It also has a compass, altimeter and barometer for outdoor and adventure photographers. The Lumix TS30 is waterproof up to 8m, shockproof to 1.5m, and freezeproof to -10 degrees Celsius and dustproof. The camera uses a Lumix DC VARIO 25-100mm lens with 4x optical zoom. It has a special Advanced Underwater mode which corrects the red hue that is lost in underwater photography, and a new Torch Light function which illuminates subjects in dark underwater conditions. It has a 2.7-inch LCD screen and 12 different filtereffects.
