Pentax Ricoh Imaging Co. announced the launch of a new compact interchangeable lens camera, the Pentax Q7. The camera has a 1/1.7-inch
12.4MP CMOS sensor, one larger than the erstwhile models in the Pentax Q series. The camera also comes with a 3.0” LCD monitor and a 23-69mm (in 35mm format) lens. The camera is expected to be available for 40,000 yen for just the body, 50,000 yen for a kit with one zoom lens, and 70,000 yen for a kit with two zoom lenses. Pentax also announced the Pentax K-50, an entry level D-SLR with a 16.28MP APS-C size sensor. The camera is the first Pentax camera to have a dustproof and waterproof design, and has an ISO limit of 51,200, sensor-shift image stabilization, shutter speed from 1/6000 sec to 30 sec, and 3.0” LCD monitor.
