Casio unveiled a new compact – the EX-Z3000, a touchscreen model, which is a first in the EXILIM series.
This model comes in 4 color variants – red, brown, silver or pink, and will sell for around 30K yen (US$370). The manufacturer has planned an initial production of 5,000 units a month.
The EX-Z3000 houses a 16.1MP CCD image sensor, and a 25-200mm equivalent f3.3-5.9 10-in-8 zoom lens. Images can be stored on the builtin 34.9MB flash memory or a removable SD/SDHC/SDXC memory card. A dedicated Li-ion battery pack (NP-110) powers the camera. Thus slim camera measures 97 x 56.6 x 22.6mm, and weighs about 148g, including the card and battery pack.
